Joining The Contest:

In order to participate, get on the scoreboard, earn and spend Felt Up points (and get FREE stuff) go here and make a post in the Contest forum saying you want to join.

You can join the contest even after you've linked to me and I'll give you the points you've already earned for your previous unique refers. It is helpful if you switch over to the URL you are assigned via the sign up after you join though.

Ways you can earn Points:

Linking to Felt Up:

Tell people about Felt Up on your website or journal. For each unique refer from your link, I'll give you 1 Felt Up point.
You can't use trickery.

Example: "Click here for free naked pictures!"

Don't portray Felt Up in a negative manner.

Example: "Look at how much this comic sucks."

Don't steal my bandwidth. You can use Felt Up images for the purpose of this contest, but you must host them yourself. If I exceed my bandwidth I'll have to pay more money and that would not be helpful.
If you post the link some place that is not your own site (like a message board) make sure you follow the rules for that site, including content/ad spamming.
Links on message boards distastefully could go wrong! If the thread turns into negative criticisms/flaming against Felt Up, I will ~~look at the % of negative content on that thread and deduct it from your points earned from that site,~~ curl up into a ball, and cry. (revised)
You can't pretend you're me or that Felt Up is your comic.

Example of unacceptable:
"Hey I am trying to get free stuff, CLICK HERE!"

"Please join this contest so I can get free stuff"
Example of acceptable:

~~"If you Check out this comic and join the contest you can help me get free stuff!"~~ (revised, now acceptable. whore the whoring contest all you wish)

I must be able to tell the visitor was from you; if some one has their referal data blocked in their browser I cannot include them.

Get Others To Join:

If you get other people to join underneath you I'll give you half a Felt Up Point for every unique visitor they refer. If people you get to join get others to join, you get .25 of a point for unique visit from those people’s sites... and .125 points for people below them.... etc…until infinity and 0.

Correct Me:

Five points for every spelling/grammar/or other sort of wording error you find. You must be the first to report it, and I must consider it an actual mistake.

Example: telling me I need a ? at the end a rhetorical question is not a mistake

There are some errors that are intentional (like my use of the word "unpossible") that I can refuse to change.
Sometimes I mess up one sentence very badly.

If I have made multiple errors in a single sentence you only get an additional point for each error, with a cap of 15 errors per comic page per person.
This is to deter nitpicking and because I make a lot of mistakes and would go poor shipping out prizes.

You cannot earn points for correcting my forum or journal replies.
You CAN earn points for correcting these rules and other “official” Felt Up content.
Do not report something that's belief/opinion/idea oriented because it's something you don't agree with.
HTML related errors do not count.
Punctuation related errors only get 1 point (to avoid nit picking, I KNOW I should use ;'s more).
Since I'm lazy, sometimes I don't update the live/deadjournal entries.. so if you're scanning the archives for mistakes make sure you look on feltup.org and not the livejournal/deadjournal.

Submit corrections via email with the Comic's date, and the errors to: this email address

Suggest Something:

It can be a suggestion for a comic, the website, or a way to earn contest points. Email or Post the idea in the contest forum. If I like your idea I'll reward you a deserving amount of points and credit you with the idea. If it's a product idea for the Felt Up Point Store, I'll make and send that item to you, and you will have a permanent 50% off discount on it until the end of the contest/world (unless it's something through cafepress.com in which case I can only sell it to you at cost as I am too poor).
Don’t get pissy if I don’t use your idea.

Participate:

I may award you points for witty remarks made in the forum/journals if you're on the scoreboard. I'm going to be stingy with these to prevent any sort of spamming.

If you do anything asinine or creepy I can throw you out of the contest
- I’ll have others vote on whether what you did was worth throwing you out for.
If this all gets too overwhelming for me I may change the rules for future joiners, but I will attempt to maintain these rules for pre-established members if possible.
If you spend your points on an image of me, you're not allowed to share it with other people or post it on the internet where they can find it.
