Instead of punching you in the face
Jul. 1st, 2005
I got into an argument with my mother about business "crazy theories", as she put it.
I was saying that if you're not outputting a product at full capacity due to low demand then it's not really smart to raise the price on the product, as she wanted to, when you're already getting a very good profit for the products you do sell. Instead of raising the price, you should lower the price so the demand is higher, and you're producing closer to capacity.
Her theory: people are elitist ass holes and will pay more for a product because they think it's the best, so more items will sell because it's more expensive, and people will brag about how much they spent on it.
I retorted that there are probably people out there like that, but they're few and far between. It'd be better to attract a larger market by having a lower price. She wouldn't budge, and was practically yelling. I was pretty mad myself, because I've played enough Lemonade Tycoon to know my "crazy theories" exist in the real world, and that's why they put them in the simulation. I've heard supply and demand referred to as a law before, but I'm way too lazy to do the fact checking on that.
Anywho, I was pretty mad when I left. Not that I would have, but I really wanted to punch her in the face because she would not see my point at all. It would have been nice to go let off some steam on the heavy bag, but some one (my little brother) decided to get overly aggressive with it and broke the thingy with the stuff.
So then I was going to do the felt thingy with me punching her in the face, but then I had a change of heart and decided to just punch the heavy bag instead.
