Don't look a gift horse in the mouth

Sep. 17th, 2005

Well, it turns out that guy actually did send me money, not forty dollars.. only twenty. Maybe some mail-person stole the other half in transit. I haven't asked the fellow if it originally had forty in it or not because it seems really rude to question a gift. Like the saying goes, you don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth.. which I always thought had something to do with a horse giving you a gift, and then you not responding properly to the horse by not looking it in the eye and thanking it for the gift.
Don't look a gift horse in the mouth
I googled the phrase and it turns off I'm way off base about it.. I'm not going to post the real meaning, as to not spoil it for those who may not know, and may not want to know...
I'd have rather gone on thinking that horses give gifts.

(I left out the emo glasses because you wouldn't be able to tell I was looking the gift horse in the mouth)
